Tips on Planter Wart Removal
Planter warts represent a tiny wound that come visible on the under-surface of the foot. This lesion has the aspect of a cauliflower and it appears as a result of the infection with a virus called human papilloma virus, or HPV. Warts may present black dots. When the planter warts are shaved or cut, a small amount of blood may come out, due to the existence of abnormal capillaries in the area. In fact, the human papilloma virus may affect any area of the body.
As these lesions are rather bothering, people have to know which the planter wart removal methods are. Even though scientists have developed vaccines for strains of human papilloma virus that determine cervical cancer and genital warts, it has been proved that these vaccines are effectiveness for planter warts and hence, they cannot be regarded as a planter wart removal method.
Next, people may try a pharmacologic planter removal method based on trichloracetic acid or salicylic acid. These are keratolysis chemical substances that remove the dead skin cells when applied on the derma. Immunotherapy and chemotherapy are two other options. The first one resumes to shots with antigens in the affected area. However, the other warts that are away of the injected area may also disappear after trying this method. Chemotherapy is a rather old, but effective planter wart removal therapy. Retinoids and other chemotherapy substances, such as 5-fluoro-uracil are the most frequently used chemicals for this type of treatment.
Cryosurgery, electrodesiccation and surgical excision are the wart planter removal methods based on surgery. The last two of them leave scars. Laser treatments are known to be the most efficient, and the fact that they do not produce scarring is yet another benefit. Despite of these facts, people leave lasers as the final treatment option because this therapy is pricey, painful and must be performed frequently in order to see the results.
Other planter wart removal treatments are based on X-rays and duct tape. The first one, even though it is old, it is rarely used because it determines long lasting adverse reaction due to the irradiation. Duct tape occlusion implies application of duct tape on the affected area for 6 days. After this period, people are recommended to use something abrasive, such as pumice stone, in order to remove the dead skin cells. It is necessary to repeat all this mechanism for six to eight weeks. As it can be observed, people have many planter wart removal options at their disposal, so all they have to do is to pick the one that is adequate to their condition.
