The Secret of Finding Mr Right

The secret of finding Mr Right is to stop searching. If you cannot resist the urge to stop searching completely, at least stop searching the wrong places.

So many women invest a great deal of time and money in pubs and bars, chatting up men who are fundamentally wrong for them. A lady who is trying to find a soul mate to spend time with is hardly going to find him propping up a bar in downtown wherever.

The type of man who takes up semi permanent residence in bars and pubs is not the kind of gentleman who wants to dedicate his life to making a woman happy. Mr Right will have sought an interesting hobby long ago and will be busy enjoying himself painting, mountaineering or pot-holing. Not that I would suggest ladies seeking a life partner should take up pot-holing just in case Mr Wonderful happens to pop his head over a precipice and declare undying love.

It does seem, however, that ladies stand a far better chance of meeting someone affectionate and considerate by joining a self improvement group of some description, rather than joining in with a chain gang of steady, habitual drinkers. If you are looking for a man who will spend most of his time in the bar, then by all means search for him there. If not, be sensible and try enrolling in some special interest groups.

The office is always a safe bet for meeting complete dorks, so it is best not to pin too many hopes on finding the man of your dreams at the company Christmas party. Worse, some men actually do discuss their conquests of the night before after such events and it is better to keep a safe distance from such bounders.

Another good system is to seek help from a trusted male friend. Men usually display good judgement when it comes to ferreting out a nice fellow to spend time with and you can rely on them to weed out the undesirables.

Most of all, keep an open frame of mind in such matters. A woman who is determined to find herself a long term companion almost never does it is the same concept as the watched kettle; it never really comes to the boil!
