Senior Housing Los Angeles



A Nursing Home is a place for seniors who are in need of skilled Nursing Care around the clock and have significant daily living deficiencies. In the US, nursing homes are required to have a licensed nurse on duty 24 hours a day, and during at least one shift each day the nurse has to be a Registered Nurse. Nursing Facilities provide many of the same services as other senior care options, however a nursing homes patients need more intensive senior health care than residents in an assisted living facility or board and care. Their staff provide a more intensive strategic plan skilled care nursing for elder care for seniors that need full assistance such as a Wheelchair or walker help, getting in or out of bed, rehabilitative therapy, IV or tube feeding, wound care management and Hospice care and many more.

There is no place like home. When asked, most seniors would like to remain and live and care in their homes. A persons own home represents security and independence to most people.

But, a person must be able to shop, cook, and do household chores. Many of us will lose one or more of these abilities as we age.

There are several types of senior citizen housing, some for making lifestyle changes in retirement and others for accommodating changes in the physical, social, emotional, mental and financial status of older persons.

Many healthy and active senior citizens want to remain in their own homes as long as possible, while others see the appeal in senior housing, such as moving into a retirement community which provides a wide range of near-by activitiesmany opportunities to enjoy life and socialize with peers. Healthy seniors can change their housing as a lifestyle choice, while seniors who are experiencing limitations due to frailty and declining health may go into some type of senior housing because they need personal care or specialized medical care. There are so many senior housing options that trying to find the best arrangement for any one person can become confusing and overwhelming.

As a family member grows older and their physical and mental conditions changes the issue of health care and housing for them in their advanced ages can become a serious problem. As the issue of rising health costs for elder care are being discussed in the public arena, more options are being made available to help seniors and their families cope with this potentially stressful situation.

Reverse Mortgages are becoming very popular with retirees especially in America. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) created one of the first reverse mortgage plans. It is a safe plan that can give an older American greater financial security. Many seniors use it to supplement social security, meet unexpected expenses, such as medical, additions in the home for wheel-chair access, and other much needed changes. Since your home is probably your largest investment, its good to know about what a reverse mortgage can do for you. Your home must be a single family or a two-to-four unit property that you own and occupy. It also possible for some individual condominium units to qualify under the Spot Loan program.
