Angina Causes Symptoms Information With Treatment

Tag: Disease Info

Angina pectoris is the result of myocardial ischemia caused by an imbalance between myocardial blood supply and oxygen demand. In most cases, the lack of blood supply is due to a narrowing of the coronary arteries as a result of arteriosclerosis. This pain is known as angina. It is more likely to occur during exertion (e.g. walking, climbing stairs) when the heart muscle needs more blood and oxygen as it works harder. Angina usually occurs during exertion, severe emotional stress, or after a heavy meal. During these periods, the heart muscle demands more blood oxygen than the narrowed coronary arteries can deliver.

Angina is common. It affects about 1 in 50 people and there are estimated to be 1.2 million people with angina in the UK. It is more common in men than women and the likelihood of it occurring increases with age. Angina also can occur in people with valvular heart disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (this is an enlarged heart due to disease) or uncontrolled high blood pressure. Typical angina is uncomfortable pressure, fullness, squeezing or pain in the center of the chest. Many types of chest discomfort aren\’t related to angina. Acid reflux (heartburn) and lung infection or inflammation are examples.

Causes of Angina

The common Causes of Angina :

Heart failure

Narrowing of the aortic heart valve

Anaemia,

Abnormal heart rhythms

Fast, abnormal heart rhythms,

Diseases of the heart muscle.

Coronary artery spasm (also called Prinzmetal\’s angina)

Symptoms of Angina

Some Symptoms of Angina :

Shortness of breath

Nausea

Feeling of moderate to severe indigestion that is persistent

Perspiration

Sharp, burning or cramping pain

Numbness or a loss of feeling in your arms, shoulders or wrists.

May also occur in the arms, shoulders, neck, jaw, throat, or back

Usually start in the chest behind the breastbone

Treatment of Angina

Eliminating or minimizing risk factors of coronary artery disease by treating high blood pressure, lowering high cholesterol levels, quitting smoking, exercise and weight loss if needed.

Drug therapy, including beta-blockers, nitrates (such as nitroglycerin), calcium channel blockers, angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors and anti-clotting drugs

Rest.

Angiography may be performed if symptoms do not improve to help determine if coronary artery bypass surgery or angioplasty is needed

Transmyocardial laser revascularization (TMR) is a new technique for relieving severe angina or coronary artery disease in patients unable to have bypass surgery or angioplasty.

Lowering LDL cholesterol levels as much as possible using drugs .

Hospitalization if the symptoms get worse quickly.

Social Anxiety Disorder Causes Symptoms Information with Treatment

Tag: Disease Info

Many people with social anxiety disorder feel that there is \”something wrong,\” but don\’t recognize their feeling as a sign of illness. Physiological effects, similar to those in other anxiety disorders, are present in social phobics. Social anxiety disorder can be so debilitating that it interferes with work, school and other routine activities. Social anxiety disorder may be linked to other mental illnesses, such as panic disorder , obsessive-compulsive disorder and depression. Signs and symptoms of social anxiety disorder can fluctuate over time. Physical symptoms include \”mind going blank\”, fast heartbeat, blushing, stomach ache. Cognitive distortions are a hallmark, and learned about in CBT.

Thoughts are often self-defeating and inaccurate. Some sufferers may use alcohol or other drugs to reduce fears and inhibitions at social events. Social anxiety disorder may co-occur with other anxiety disorders as well as depression. Additionally, people with social anxiety may develop problems with substance abuse or dependence when they use drinking or drugs to \”self-medicate\” their symptoms. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), a class of antidepressants, are considered by many to be the first choice medication for generalised social phobia. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) may be helpful in the treatment of social anxiety disorder. MAOIs and benzodiazepines may require more monitoring than other medications. Beta blockers are sometimes used with performance anxiety, a specific kind of social anxiety.

Treatment of Social Anxiety Disorder

Common Treatment of Social Anxiety Disorder

Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), a class of antidepressants, are considered by many to be the first choice medication for generalised social phobia.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) may be helpful in the treatment of social anxiety disorder. It teaches people with social anxiety disorder to react differently to the situations that trigger their anxiety symptoms.

MAOIs and benzodiazepines may require more monitoring than other medications.

Beta blockers are sometimes used with performance anxiety, a specific kind of social anxiety.

Benzodiazepines are a short-acting and more potent alternative to SSRIs. The drug is often used for short-term relief of severe, disabling anxiety

Hepatitis Transmission and Swimming Pools

Tag: Disease Info

On a blistering hot summer day, most people dont think twice about jumping into a pool for a refreshing swim to cool off. Whether its a community pool, a neighbors, or even the one in your very own backyard, swimming pools harbor some health hazards you should be aware of, especially if you already suffer from liver disease.

You may already know that hepatitis B and C are transmitted through direct blood contact. But another strain of this virus, hepatitis A, is transmitted in a very different way through fecal matter. Sometimes youll hear about hepatitis A being spread through contaminated food at restaurants, which is likely the cause behind those signs you see in restaurant bathrooms that say All employees must wash their hands. Poor personal hygiene is a primary cause of hepatitis A transmission. However, this liver infection may also be lurking much closer to home in your swimming pool.

As much as wed all like to believe it doesnt happen, there are times when fecal matter gets into pool water. This happens more often with young children. When this occurs, the water becomes contaminated and the possibility of hepatitis A infection grows.

But how can you tell if the water youre about to jump into has been contaminated? If its your own pool, be diligent about sanitation and chlorination to keep your water in the best shape possible. If its a community pool, a quick evaluation will tell you how clean the water is; some things to look for are the clarity of the water, the feel of the pool walls, and the smell it gives off.

Hepatitis A is not the most threatening strain of hepatitis, but its not a gentle virus. If infected, you may be stricken with symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, fever and fatigue. Luckily, there is a vaccine available for hepatitis A. Learn more about hepatitis A transmission in swimming pools, and what you can do to keep your pool as clean as possible.

The Many Causes of Acid Reflux

Tag: Disease Info

Realizing the causes of acid reflux can mean a simple anatomy lesson is required. When food enters the stomach, it goes through the esophageal sphincter. The esophageal sphincter then closes, allowing for digestion to take place. Sometimes, certain foods and situations can cause the esophageal sphincter to weaken or pressure pushes it open. When this occurs, the contents of the stomach or stomach juices are able to rise back up through the esophageal sphincter. These are the true causes of acid reflux.

Some Of The Causes of Acid Reflux

Tomatoes and tomato-based foods are prime offenders as causes of acid reflux. These foods cause the esophageal sphincter to weaken. The acidity of tomato-based foods doesnt help. Tomato based foods are widely enjoyed and a staple in many cultures. They are quite difficult to avoid, but are one of the main causes of acid reflux.

Caffeine is high on the list of causes of acid reflux. This means coffee, tea, and carbonated beverages are all potential causes of acid reflux. These drinks are beloved by the majority of the population and many people refuse to even consider lowering their intake or quitting entirely. This means taking precautions to prevent the acid reflux from occurring.

Other common foods that are the causes of acid reflux include fried foods, fatty foods, and even chocolate. Fried and fatty foods take longer to digest than other foods, causing them to sit in the stomach longer. This puts added pressure on the stomach and in turn puts pressure on the esophageal sphincter. It can be hard for people to accept that they must adjust their diet in order to stave off acid reflux.

There are also situations that can be avoided. These situations are also major causes of acid reflux. One is eating too much. When the stomach is too full, it puts pressure on the lower esophageal sphincter. It is also important to not eat within two to three hours before lying down. This allows the contents of the stomach to rise up. These to situations can be easily avoided.

Once the causes of acid reflux are known, it is easier to prevent occurrences. This can be done by avoiding these foods and situations or by taking medications. There are medications that can be prescribed by a physician or over the counter medications that can be bought at the store. Knowing the causes of acid reflux can make life much less painful.

Lyme Disease - A National Health Crisis

Tag: Disease Info

\”No pain, no gain!\” is a grim, but popular maxim for the dressage competitor- indeed, for any competitive athlete. But especially for the dressage enthusiast who suffers not only muscle soreness and joint strain, but blisters and calluses on hands - and much worse - the most sensitive area of the \”seat-bone\” - yes, we are all gluttons for punishment in our passionate pursuit for the elusive mastery of subtle aids and powerful performance.

\”It\’s not trail-riding!\” quips Sue Jaccoma to students who dare to whine about the physical demands in following her directions. As a successful instructor and top national competitor herself, she leads by example and manages to inject humor into the gruesome reality of callused crotches, back problems and bruises of all shapes and sizes - never complaining (actually relishing) the challenge of riding 5 - 6 horses per day without complaint.

And yet it is this iron-will and blind determination that makes dressage riders so vulnerable to Lyme disease.

Lyme Disease is now thought to be the fastest growing infectious disease in the world having finally surpassed AIDS in the US (Source: International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society - www.ilads.org). According to a Harvard medical study, there are believed to be at least 200,000 new cases each year in the U.S, and some experts think that as many as one in every 15 Americans is currently infected (20 million persons). The truly frightening aspect of this disease is that most victims never see the tick or the bulls-eye rash, and with an enormous capacity for \”pushing through\” pain, many dressage riders don\’t recognize the onset of symptoms (which for many feels like a flu), and ignore the sporadic pain that occurs as the spirochetes burrow deeper and deeper into the tissue causing joint pain (especially neck and back), abdominal pain, fatigue and a whole host of other symptoms that can mimic everything from MS, fibromyalgia, chronic-fatigue syndrome, and rheumatoid arthritis just to name a few. Lyme affects each person in a very unique way depending upon immune strength. Additionally, it can hide in a healthy person for years in a \”cystic\” form, and then become virulent at the first sign of weakness.

To make matters even worse, there is no reliable test available to determine the presence of Lyme in a person, you need a Lyme-literate doctors who can put the puzzling symptoms together with a full health history and a test for antibodies (the western blot) to determine the diagnosis and design a treatment protocol - which varies greatly from person to person.

Johanna Husta lives in Ulster County, New York, where she has ridden her whole life. First competing in hunter-jumper, then eventing, she fell in love with dressage after a single lesson with Meri Straz (now sadly deceased). Before that, in 1996, Johanna (known as Jiffy) started feeling sick. She remembers, \”It felt like someone pulled the plug on my life-force.\” It began with unusual fatigue and achiness, along with joint pain, migraines, depression and night sweats. Eventually, the symptoms became so troubling that Johanna went to the doctor. \”I never go to the doctor - maybe once a year for my annual physical - but this was beginning to scare me.\” Says Johanna of that long-ago visit. \”He (the doctor) attributed all of my symptoms to depression and sent me home with anti-depressants. To his credit he ordered a Lyme test, but it came back negative.\”

Johanna\’s Lyme test was the ELISA test which looks for your bodies antibodies to the infection. Unfortunately the test misses 40% - 80% of the time (depending upon your source,) but it is especially ineffective once the bacteria has disseminated and invaded more deeply into the tissue.

For seven more years, Johanna went from doctor to doctor, diagnosed with depression, rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia. Each year the ELISA test was repeated with negative results and Johanna, still riding several horses per day and working a full-time corporate job, continued to suffer.

Finally, in the spring of 2004, an allergist sent her to Dr. Horowitz, a premier Lyme-literate doctor who has been treating all forms of Lyme for over 20 years. At last she was given the western blot which showed positive results - 8 years after her first symptoms!

Relieved and undaunted, Johanna took mega-doses of oral antibiotics for 18 months during which time she continued to ride, but had marginal improvement. Dr. Horowitz decided to treat her more aggressively and placed her on IV antibiotics for 6 months. Another less dedicated rider might have cancelled their ambitious Florida plans, but Johanna was determined. She had been rehabbing an older PSG horse, and was eager to spend the winter in Wellington, Florida training with Sue Jaccoma.

\”I covered my pick-line with an arm-band, and most people didn\’t even know I was sick.\” But Sue knew, and tried to accommodate her good day/bad day roller-coaster recovery. \”She was very understanding!\” Johanna recalls, \”The excitement I felt as my riding improved actually helped me feel better faster.\” And by the end of the season, Johanna was starting to feel some semblance of physical and mental normalcy. Ready to finally start showing, plans were again put on hold when her PSG horse tore his suspensory. Luckily, before heading back to NY, another dressage trainer found Johanna another PSG horse - to re-school, show and then sell for one of his clients.

Unfortunately, like so many others, Johanna had a full relapse six months later, and this time she had to cancel her Florida plans. But she isn\’t bitter. \”Everything happens for a reason.\” She says softly. \”You\’ve got to have faith.\” And Johanna\’s faith encompasses her plans to compete at the highest level. Her eyes on Grand Prix, she interacts with her horses however she physically can day by day.

Unlike Johanna, I started riding as an adult, taking my first dressage lesson in 1995. I spent 8 years at Training Level and then in 2003 - at age 42 - I purchased a school-master from gold-medalist Susanne Hamilton (CSF Imports), and began training with her in earnest. Undaunted by the physical challenge of daily schooling and frequent showing, by the end of 2005 I had earned my bronze medal, and by May of 2006, I had earned my silver medal as well.

Looking back, I remember fighting incredible fatigue and a long list of aching muscles and joints that I ascribed to \”the cost\” of competitive dressage. In September of 2006 - ignorant of any possible illness - I loaded up my Holsteiner mare and 3 month old filly to Region 8 Championships in Saugerties, New York for the breed show, along with my Hanoverian schoolmaster and won 3rd place in Prix St. Georges (adult amateur class). Ten days later I had to cancel my lesson with Sue Jaccoma due to a mysterious flu-like illness.

During the next several months, my health rapidly deteriorated with no evident cause. Specialists from Portland Maine to Boston, Mass performed every test imaginable (including a negative ELISA titer - for Lyme Disease) - and still no answers. By this time my symptoms included severe neurological involvement and relentless abdominal pain which confined me to constant bed rest in a dark room - an unimaginable nightmare for an active equestrian.

Finally, Sue put me in touch with Johanna, and after comparing symptoms, I felt certain I was suffering from Lyme Disease. Thanks to Johanna\’s knowledge and encouragement it took only 2 more months for a diagnosis (most Lyme-literate doctors have waiting lists between 3 and 8 months due to the massive swell of new infection cases.) Unfortunately, after months of mega-doses of 4 different antibiotics and penicillin shots three times per week, I was still not improving. Finally, my doctors put me on IV antibiotics, but when I still seemed to be worsening, the doctors ordered a CD-57 test.

The CD-57 test, a major medical break-through in the treatment and diagnosis of Lyme, which measures a subset of killer cells (also used for AIDS and other immune system related illnesses), and will show abnormally low results for Lyme Disease (The range is from 60 to 360 with most people maintaining a level around 200. In fact, Dr. Burrascano, a Lyme Specialist who treated over 12 thousand Lyme cases before retiring, wanted to see the CD-57 over 200 before ending antibiotic treatment. He found that anything lower resulted in relapse of symptoms.)

When my test returned a 28, my specialist gently prepared me for the lengthy and difficult recovery plan I could expect over the next several years. I didn\’t think it could get worse, but I think that may have been the lowest moment, realizing I wouldn\’t (couldn\’t) be riding any time soon.

Over the next two months, my husband and I wrestled with the right course of action for our three horses.

My Grand Prix schoolmaster at 17 was not ready for retirement, but had been out of work during my illness, and I finally broke down and realized that it was selfish to keep such a wonderful teacher and friend out in a field, waiting for me, not understanding why he didn\’t get the pampering and daily riding. Fortunately my dear friend and previous instructor (Susanne Hamilton) took compassion on me and picked up his training and care, as well as finding the perfect new owner to share in his life. Then out of the blue, another equine friend, Catherine Merrill offered to take care of my 10 year old Holsteiner mare for as long as I needed! And then, as if miracles were raining from the sky to balance the frightening prognosis of my disease, USEF \”R\” Judge and respected dressage trainer and competitor Sue Roberto (also known for her many successful years in the sport-horse sales community) and her husband Ralph generously offered to care for my one-year old Contango filly!

It is humbling to require the level of charity that I have needed with this lengthy illness, and awe-inspiring to feel the warmth of the open arms in the dressage community, and the kindness and compassion from the back-yard riders to the upper echelons of competitive dressage!

So, instead of riding FEI tests all summer, I have been isolated and bed-ridden in a basement room with no windows, afraid of the pain generated by light and sound. Daily infusions of IV antibiotics through a port installed in my chest, and a dozen supplements along with the multiple prescription meds have finally stopped the downward spiral.

It is still a major accomplishment to do a load of laundry, but the dream of getting back on my horses someday keeps my spirits up.

To avoid such a frightening disease common-sense protection for you and your animals cannot be under-stated. But the hardest thing for dressage riders is to re-train your mind to pay attention to every ache and pain - especially in the spring and fall when the ticks are most active. Another helpful preventative according to Stephen Buhner, author of \”Healing Lyme\”, is taking 1000 mg of the herb Astragalus - 2 times per day, which is effective for resisting infection and/or lessening the disease impact.

Maintaining a strong immune system is also critical. A healthy diet and adequate rest are important, but equestrians need supplements just like our horses do.

Ticks are a part of the dressage rider\’s life, and with the spread of the disease, it becomes increasingly likely that you too could contract Lyme disease. It is critical to get medical attention at the first sign of Lyme symptoms (especially flu-like symptoms from early summer through the fall.) The infamous bulls-eye rash is a definitive symptom, however less than 305 ever see the tick or any rash. If you do see the rash, a three to four week course of antibiotics will completely eradicate Lyme in most people. However, the frightening truth is that the longer you have Lyme disease the harder it is to get rid of.

Ten Things You Should Know To Avoid Osteoporosis

Tag: Disease Info

Osteoporosis is a crippling disease, which will make your bones brittle, causing fractures to occur. Each year thousands of people all over the world are likely to suffer this painful disease. It is estimated that 1 in 3 women and 1 in 12 men over the age of 50 worldwide have osteoporosis. It is responsible for millions of fractures annually, mostly involving the lumbar vertebrae, hip, and wrist.

As you see from the figures that women are likely to get Osteoporosis than men, which is due the hormone change after menopause.

Whos at risk, and what to avoid.

There are many things you should avoid, and there are many things you can do to avoid problems yourself.

1. Stop Smoking. This goes for many complaints, and it has been proved to be one of the factors that can bring on Osteoporosis.
\r 2. Top up your daily intake of Calcium, which will help in the maintenance of healthy teeth and bones.
\r 3. Avoid to many fizzy drinks. Replace them with Calcium based drinks. (Milk etc)
\r 4. Avoid too much alcohol.
\r 5. Avoid over exercising. (Lifting over heavy weights.) One fact I have learnt is that Marathon runners tend to suffer in later years.
\r 6. Avoid being to thin. Try to maintain some body fat, as skinny people do tend to suffer more.
\r 7. Do some form of light exercise each day.
\r 8. Make sure you have a daily intake of Vitamin D.
\r 9. Control your diet. Make sure you get your daily intake of fresh fruit, and vegetables.
\r 10. Always consult your Doctor should you think you have a problem, as Im sure there are a lot of cases that never get mentioned, or get the help that there is to be had.

Footnote.

I should say at this point that Osteoporosis is not a killer, although it can be very painful for anyone that suffers. Having this disease can slow the bodies defense system down with pain, and that is when other complications set in. Things like Deep vein thrombosis, and pulmonary embolism are common, hence if you have a fracture of the hip you usually are operated on quickly.

There are no known cures although the Medical profession can help in many ways, and that is why I always recommend that you consult your Doctor.

Please note that I am not a Doctor, but I do have an interest in Alternative Medicine.\r To read more on Alternative Medicine please go to the following website.

Eating Disorders Exposed - What Type Are You In?

Tag: Disease Info

When you look in the mirror, do you follow what Snow White\’s step mother do? What do you ask? \”Mirror, mirror, on the wall, am I thinnest of them all?\”

An eating disorder is something that afflicts millions of people. An eating disorder happens when your eating patterns disturbs your physical and mental health and you have an unnatural obsession with your food intake and weight (can be admitted or in denial).

There are three commonly known types of eating disorder. First is Anorexia Nervosa which is characterized by an abnormally low body weight. If your body weight for your age and height proportion is below 15% the recommended values, then you must be suffering from Anorexia Nervosa. This type of eating disorder stems from your great fear of gaining weight even when you are far from it. Studies shows that most people with Anorexia Nervosa are perfectionist and have a set of unattainable standards to which they suffer or punish themselves by refusing to eat.

Bulimia Nervosa on the other hand is characterized by episodes of binge eating-only to throw up thereafter. Binge eating is to consume large amounts of high calorie and high fat food, all at one go. People afflicted by bulimia nervosa describes the bingeing process to have a sort of ecstatic physical feeling like numbing out, losing control and having immediate pleasure with the excessive food intake. This usually happens because they have been restricting themselves of the so called binge-food that taking it all in disproportionate amount is like a sign of rebellion But once their bingeing has sinked in, they make their way to the wash room and forcibly purge it all out of their throats.

The last major type is Binge-eating Disorder. This is similar to bulimia nervosa in the sense that there is a process of consuming large amounts of high caloric and fatty foods. But the difference with binge-eating disorder is that they do not throw it up. Their bingeing happens secretly, coupled with feelings of shame and self contempt. If you think only too skinny people need help, then you ought to think again. Emotional overeating is deemed to be a coping mechanism for depression, anxiety, anger, stress and many other negative emotions.

They say that in order for an eating disorder to be cured, you have to get to the bottom of it. We ask you this, what type are you?

Quick Relief From Acid Reflux Throat Irritation

Tag: Disease Info

When you are dealing with acid refluxing up into the esophagus, you know there can be many painful problems that follow. Acid can travel up to the top of the throat and may leak into the lungs, causing all kinds of breathing problems, and even lowering lung function. You may have problems with your sinuses, and you know all about the pain in the chest that comes with reflux. You may also notice that it hurts to swallow sometimes, and that can be due to damage in the upper esophagus and throat. When that happens, you want to find something for immediate relief, and that means finding good ways to soothe acid reflux throat irritation.

The first thing you should consider when thinking about acid reflux throat pain is that you have to get your reflux under control if you have not already done so. If you don\’t stop the root of your throat irritation, nothing is going to help you. The biggest problem you may have with your throat is that it hurts in the morning. This is because acid has leaked into the esophagus while you were sleeping, and has sat in your throat. Start taking medications or natural remedies to combat acid reflux, which ever you are more comfortable with using.

You will still experience some acid reflux throat irritation while you are working to get your reflux under control. That is when you can think about things that can soothe your throat until the acid is not doing any more damage. Once the acid is contained, your tissues will heal, but it might not happen right away. However, depending on the state of the damage, it might not mean complete healing.

Here are five tips for soothing your acid reflux throat pain and irritation:

- Think about minimizing your throat damage by elevating the head of your bed. Find something you can use to raise the top of your mattress so that the upper half of your body is elevated by at least six inches. You have to make sure you elevate the entire upper torso, and not just your head. This helps keeps acid down into the stomach and out of the esophagus while you are sleeping.

- Sometimes a sore throat can be aggravated by dry air. When sleeping, many of us breath through our mouths without realizing it. What might help is having a humidifier going while you are sleeping. This puts moisture into the air, and helps the throat from drying over night.

- There are a few drinks you can use to soothe your throat irritation in the morning. You can try gargling with salt water, or you can try any number of teas. You only need about a half a teaspoon of salt per tall glass of water for gargling, and when drinking tea, add some honey.

- You can also try zinc cough drops or lozenges. These should not be relied on, and should not be used all day, but can be used when pain is bad and you need to take the edge off.

- Lastly, increase your daily fluid intake. This isn\’t a direct cure for acid reflux throat irritation, but it does help in the long run. You should drink plenty of water each day, and it has more benefits that just helping with a sore throat. Aim for eight glasses a day, and drink more if you can.

A French herbalist by the name of Maurice Messegue wrote a book in 1979 detailing a number of herbal footbaths that are excellent to help improve a number of different allergies and ailments. The book is entitled Health Secrets of Plants and Herbs. These footbaths, which are home remedy for eczema, require that you make a tea of the herbal mixture and then let them sit for twenty to thirty minutes.

After this period of time strain the mixture and then include it to the bathtub or footbath that contains a sufficient amount of warm or lukewarm water. It is best to immerse your feet twice a day- morning and night- and repeat it for a period of ten to fifteen minutes. For most favorable results, use no less than nine herbs in the mixture.

\r Elecampane Leaves
\r Cabbage Leaves
\r Nettles, Sage

Elecampane Leaves

Lavender is superior for reducing swelling while marigold helps with inflammation and skin injuries.

Arnica as a Home Remedy for Eczema

Arnica is both antibacterial as well as anti-inflammatory and is excellent for dropping eczema symptoms. What Is The Best Cure For Hemorrhoids And Does Any Treatment Prevent Reoccurence?

Tag: Disease Info

The best cure for hemorrhoids is the one that works for you, plain and simple. There are many conventional and alternative treatment options, and people have reported favorable results with many of them. It\’s just a matter of knowing what\’s out there and finding the right one for your particular situation.

Treatments can come in the form of herbal supplements, topical medications, conventional oral drugs, and even surgery. Different people may have different ideas on which of these is the best hemorrhoid treatment. However, many agree that if natural remedies can be used to effectively treat conditions, it is by far the most desirable choice. If not, there are new alternative treatments in place that are proving less abrasive and interruptive to daily life.

If you want the best cure for hemorrhoids and the least invasive treatments, the option for you is natural remedies like certain juices, lifestyle changes, herbal supplements and topical treatments like poultices and suppositories made up of natural ingredients. These options are less expensive as well, although you will find that some of them are the main ingredients that make up many of the expensive medications on sale today that claim to be the best hemorrhoid treatment. These ingredients include butchers broom, cayenne pepper, vitamin e and red sage. All of these can be found and taken on their own or together from your local health food store, or even online.

Juices that you may take to heal hemorrhoids include pomegranate juice and dark berry juices that have lemon or apple juice mixed in. Fruits like papaya and bananas are high in fiber and help healthy stool as well. A change in lifestyle also contributes to the best cure for hemorrhoids. This means more fluids, more exercise, and a healthy approach to bowel movements that includes the avoidance of excessive straining while on the toilet.

Topical treatments are varied and abundant as well as suppositories. A wise choice of these, which includes witch hazel, and natural poultices made up of ingredients like cranberries or garlic and onions can be applied to the area to soothe and cure. Essential oils like almond or lavender can also be applied to the affected area. The best hemorrhoid treatment, remember, also means what works for you. Hot baths and cool compresses along with the above poultices are easy, inexpensive, and can be administered from home without what may be an embarrassing trip to the doctor.

In some cases, the best cure for hemorrhoids may be more complicated. In extreme cases you may have to consider surgical treatment. If so, a second opinion as well as consultation is a good idea, and you may want to look into the newer alternative options in surgery that are available. These, according to many are the best cure for hemorrhoids in extreme cases when surgery is unavoidable.

These options can be desirable especially for people that want to avoid missing time off work, or more painful healing time. More conventional surgeries may include stitches, and that takes more time to heal. Laser surgery is not only an outpatient treatment, meaning no hospital stays, but also it is very precise and promotes rapid healing, with very little to no bleeding during or after. In extreme cases when surgery is necessary, this may indeed be the best hemorrhoid treatment.
