You hate acne! Having pimples and blemishes is hard on you self-confidence and can make you want to hide away. At-Home Acne Remedies

Whether your acne is mild or severe, you may be able to control your pimples with simple steps that you can take at home. This is obviously the least expensive and most desirable way to handle acne. Treating your acne yourself requires some basic steps that are necessary no matter what. You can also use some natural remedies that you can put together with your own ingredients.

Keep skin clean. Wash twice a day with a mild cleanser and pat gently dry. Follow with any of the following topical acne remedies:

Diluted tea tree oil - tea tree oil has excellent anti-bacterial properties and is a bit drying, so it works well as an acne remedy. Make sure to dilute it with water because it is very strong and then dab on with a cotton ball or swab.

Diluted rubbing alcohol, hydrogen peroxide or witch hazel - works much the same as tea tree oil.

Aspirin paste - Make a paste from a couple non-coated aspirins that you have soften with just a few drops of water. Apply the aspirin paste to pimples and allow to sit for 20 minutes, then rinse. The salicylic acid in the aspirin will reduce the inflammation and size of pimples.

Additional at-home treatment should include gentle ex foliation of the affected area twice a week with a soft washcloth. Don\'t scrub! And remember - don\'t pick at your pimples!

Other Acne Remedies

If your at-home anti-acne regimen is not giving the results you desire, you might want to check out some of the new kits that are available. These kits or \'systems\' are effective as acne remedies, but you may need to experiment to find the right on for you. They come with cleansers, gels or creams, ex foliators and masks that when used together can create good results.

Finally, possibly the most effective acne remedy especially if you have severe acne is a visit to your dermatologist. You can discuss your symptoms with him or her, and the times when your acne seems most active. Your dermatologist will be able to determine if more aggressive measures are needed such as prescriptions or other acne treatments.

Acne is a very troublesome skin condition and no one should have to suffer with it. There are many acne remedies that are very effective and safe to use. Start simple and become more aggressive in your fight against acne if the simple acne remedies don\'t show results. Do remember that it will take any acne remedy at least four weeks to show improvement. Good luck!
